| Dear
Colleagues,
Happy
Feast, Happy New Year to all of you.
First
of all, I would like to thank all those
who shared in the arrangement of the Annual
Meeting of the EUA at Luxor. My special
thanks are due to Prof. Rashwan (Congress
President), Prof. Eissa (Congress General
Secretary) and the members of the executive
committee ( Prof. Ghoneim, Prof. Bedair,
Prof. Fouda, Prof.Abou Elaela) for putting
in all their efforts to ensure the success
of the meeting. We had about 705 participants
from Egypt and 86 from other countries.
This large number of attending urologists
is a clear evidence for the positive development
of our association.
As
decided during the last General Assembly,
we will form scientific sectors within the
EUA which will cover the fields of laparoscopy,
uro-oncology, endourology, paediatric urology
and voiding dysfunction. I am very pleased
to say that a large number of colleagues
have agreed to share in the work of these
sectors. To enable them to start their activities
without any delay, meetings will be arranged
for each sector in January/February 2003
during which the executive committees will
be elected. I am sure that the work of these
sectors will have a great impact on all
urological fields in Egypt.
Meanwhile,
we are looking forward to the next Annual
Meeting of the EUA (EUA 2003) which will
be held in Cairo from October 1-4, 2003.
Prof.El Kassaby being the General Secretary
of the Association and the congress and
myself in my capacity as the President of
the Association and the congress together
with a large group of colleagues will do
our utmost to make this coming congress
an even more successful event, from the
scientific as well as from the social point
of view.
I
am also very pleased to announce that an
SIU Uro-Oncology Meeting will be held in
Sharm El-Sheikh from October 19-23, 2003
with Prof. Ghoneim as a President and me
as a General Secretary for the congress.
You are cordially invited to share in this
meeting of international importance by submitting
abstracts on topics related to urogenital
tumors.
